I’ve been following with enthusiasm the progress of my friend Jobi Blachy and his “redesign” of the Los Angeles furniture maker, Quintus. A few months ago, the company opened a snazzy showroom in LA’s Pacific Design Center, and it just announced new representation in New York, Dennis Miller & Associates at the New York Design Center.
Now northern California designers and clients will get the chance to take a closer look at the well-crafted, beautifully-designed pieces the company is focusing its efforts on.
The company is opening a “pop-up” showroom this month from June 14 to June 23 at Coupar Consulting’s suite, #416, at 101 Henry Adams Street in the San Francisco Design Center (see map). Along with the new 2016 furnishings collection, the showroom will feature lighting from Studio Bel Vetro and textiles from Creation Baumann, Evitavonni and Fabric & Steel.
Of note are two special events during Quintus’ San Francisco “residency.” On Tuesday the 14th from 11am to 1pm, Jobi is hosting a luncheon, where along with some tasty food he’ll share some interesting morsels about the latest collection from Quintus, his journey to fulfilling his lifelong dream of owning a luxury home brand, and how Quintus is adapting to the new reality of retail and online competition. If you’d like to join, please rsvp.
On Thursday the 23rd at 2pm, we’re all invited for “Scholarly Snacks.” Join Jobi and the owners of Studio Bel Vetro for a gourmet chocolate tasting and learning session about the art of glass blowing, custom lighting tips, and hear their story about moving from Boston to Healdsburg to set up their world-class facility. If you’d like to join, please rsvp.
I hope you get the chance to see the latest from Quintus’ collection (I’ve shared some photos of its offerings below). You can let them know when you’d like to drop by or if you’d like a private tour, email Grey Lux. Hours are from 9 to 5 Monday to Friday.
