Here are some detailed views from my favorite Paris Museum, le Museé des Arts Décoratifs. Although the collection of masterpieces from the 1930’s is my favorite, the superior level of quality makes every period of French decorative arts sing, even the late 19th century, as evidenced by the dragon-motif and mother-of-pearl inlaid chair backs in these studies.
When you visit, do not miss the views of Paris over the Tuileries Gardens from the tower galleries, almost hidden at the end of the Museum furthest from its entry off the Rue de Rivoli and only accessible from a nearly hidden elevator at the rear of the upper floors.
