18th Century Lacquer
This wallcovering emulates the luxurious antique finish of rarely-encountered 18th century examples of lacquer on linen. Roger says he has found it on several small boxes, a screen and a commode. “Their well loved, aged surfaces reveal the structure of the weave beneath their glossy colors encouraged by uneven wear,” he says. “I cherish this rich surface for its illusion of light reflected on water as seen from a distance on a clear night.”
